How Reuse and Community Impact Are Shaping Workplace Decisions

At Assets4Change, creating positive and lasting social impact is central to everything we do. One initiative we are particularly proud to support is the Nathan Clarke Music Sponsorship Scheme, a programme that continues to make a meaningful difference to young people in our local community.

Launched in 2019 in partnership with Winsford Academy, a secondary school located close to our Winsford depot, the scheme was created to celebrate a love of music, nurture young talent and open up opportunities for students who show real enthusiasm and commitment to learning an instrument.

A Scheme Built on Passion and Purpose

The sponsorship programme was established in memory of Nathan Clarke, a former Johnsons colleague, former Winsford Academy student and a passionate guitarist. Nathan’s love for music and his connection to both the school and the business made this partnership a fitting way to honour his legacy.

Each year, students at Winsford Academy are selected to take part in the scheme based on their enthusiasm for music and their dedication to developing their skills over time. The programme supports students throughout their school journey, helping them to access lessons, develop technique and build confidence through music.

More Than Music Lessons

While learning an instrument is at the heart of the scheme, the benefits go far beyond music itself. Participation helps students build confidence, discipline and creativity, skills that support both academic achievement and personal development.

For many young people, music provides a powerful outlet for self-expression. It encourages focus, resilience and teamwork, while also offering a sense of achievement and pride as students progress.

By supporting this journey, the scheme helps students develop skills that stay with them well beyond the classroom.

Strengthening Local Communities Through Opportunity

Investing in music education is also an investment in the wider community. Creative programmes like this help bring people together, strengthen local connections and provide opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable to young people.

Through the Nathan Clarke Music Sponsorship Scheme, Assets4Change and Johnsons 1871 are proud to play a small but meaningful role in supporting young talent and encouraging positive outcomes within the communities we serve.

A Lasting Commitment to Social Value

The scheme reflects our broader commitment to social value and community impact. By supporting initiatives that focus on education, creativity and opportunity, we aim to make a difference that extends beyond our core services.

We are incredibly proud of the students who take part each year and grateful to Winsford Academy for their ongoing partnership. Together, we are helping young people build confidence, discover their potential and create positive memories through music, and looking to extend this to other schools in 2026.
