Since October 2023, GovReuse has saved government departments over £3.1 million by redistributing surplus furniture and IT equipment, preventing unnecessary procurement costs and reducing waste.

GovReuse ensures that surplus furniture is redistributed efficiently within the public sector, helping government departments save money, reduce waste and support sustainability goals.

Through our sister company, Johnsons Asset 360, we work with clients to redistribute redundant furniture and IT equipment to government offices and public sector organisations, preventing unnecessary waste while maximising reuse opportunities.

How GovReuse Works

Assets Are Listed

Surplus government and public sector furniture is tagged and listed on the GovReuse portal.

Search for assets

Registered government users can browse available items and request what they need.

Authorisation

Requests are sent to the relevant client or department for approval.

Arrange delivery

Once approved, assets can either be collected or delivered with a quoted cost if required.

Offered to other organisations and charities

Any remaining assets are then offered to public sector organisations and charities.

Savings report

Full CO₂ and cost-saving reports are generated, providing visibility on sustainability and financial impact.
